The IEC TC 14 Power transformers is the International Electrotechnical Commission’s technical committee responsible for developing and maintaining the IEC 60076 series of standards for power transformers and reactors. The committee brings together experts from utilities, manufacturers, test laboratories, and consultants worldwide, ensuring that standards reflect state-of-the-art technology, operational experience, and evolving grid requirements. TC 14 plays a key role in harmonising global transformer practices and supporting safe, reliable, and efficient power transmission and distribution systems. 

The CIGRE Study Committee A2 (SC A2) is the global technical body dedicated to Power Transformers and Reactors. Its primary mission is to facilitate the international exchange of information and knowledge to improve the performance, reliability, and safety of these critical grid components throughout their entire life cycle.  

Australian Panels are the national expert groups that represent Australia within the international work of CIGRE Study Committees. They coordinate Australian participation in working groups, contribute technical input and service experience, review draft technical brochures, and facilitate knowledge exchange between Australian utilities, manufacturers, consultants, and the global CIGRE community. 

The IEEE PES Transformers Committee is the primary IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) technical committee dedicated to the study, design, testing, installation, maintenance, and operation of power transformers, reactors, and related components. It is one of the largest and most active technical committees within IEEE PES, comprising industry experts from manufacturers, utilities, consultants, and academia.
