Dr-Ing. Dejan Susa is the Founder and Principal Engineer of GMB-TX Pty Ltd, an independent engineering consultancy specialising in power transformers and reactors. He has more than 20 years of international experience spanning utility asset ownership, applied research, academia, and international standardisation, covering the full transformer lifecycle from specification and design review through manufacturing, testing, operation, condition assessment, and asset life evaluation.
Prior to establishing GMB-TX, Dr-Ing. Susa held senior technical roles including Principal Engineer at AusNet Services, Special Advisor to Statnett, R&D Engineer at SINTEF, and Research Fellow at Monash University. This combination of utility, research, and academic experience underpins a strongly evidence-based and practically oriented engineering approach.
Dr-Ing. Susa is actively engaged in international technical leadership and standardisation. He currently serves as Convener of IEC 60076-2 (Temperature rise) and IEC 60076-7 (Loading guide) within IEC TC 14, Chair of Transformer Testing within AS EL 008 SC 14, Convener of CIGRE WG A2.57 (Effects of DC Bias / GIC on power transformers), and a member of CIGRE WG A2.81. He is a recipient of the IEC 1906 Award, granted in recognition of exceptional individual achievements and specific technical contributions that have significantly advanced IEC activities.
Through GMB-TX, he provides independent, technically support to utilities, consultants, and manufacturers worldwide, with a strong focus on engineering quality, transparency, and long-term asset reliability.
